Invitation Ettiquette & Info

Save the Dates

This is a courtesy and an official announcement of your event. If you are doing a Save the Date, it should include not only the event date but the location and any travel info. Traditionally save the dates should be sent out 3 to 4 months ahead of time. But in my opinion, you can never give too much notice. Especially when your guests need to plan for travel, etc. My recommendation is to send a save the date 6 months to 1 year before your event. These should go to everyone on your guest list. These can be done via regular mail or online.

The “Save the Date” is especially important for those planning destinations weddings during busy travel dates—such as a three-day holiday weekend or peak season in the Caribbean—it is an expected courtesy since many of your guests will have to make travel and hotel arrangements.

Invitations

Your invitations are one of the most important elements of your day because they provide guests with crucial information. The stationery you choose  is an extension of your event. Using prints Charming, you can really customize your options for budget and style.

Traditionally, invitations go out six to eight weeks before the wedding. That gives guests plenty of time to clear their schedules and make travel arrangements if they don’t live in town. If it’s a destination wedding, but again giving guests more time tp clear their schedules and make those travel arrangements, I suggest that they be sent out three months ahead

Response Cards

My suggestion is to have you set your RSVP date at least 1 month prior to your event date. This will allow enough time for you to get in touch with those guests that still haven’t responded by your deadline. Remember, you will have to know who is coming to properly order your favors and plan your table seating.

How much to order?

Cushion your guest list quantity by 10-15%, more than likely your guest list will grow and you will want to keep a copy for yourself! Reorders are always available in any quantity you like.
Just let me know!

Printing Time

Invitations are typically completed within 2-3* weeks from the date of your proof approval. (now with staffing shortages, printing can take up to 5 weeks) *Always factor in 2-4 days for shipping. This will be discussed as we design your invitation suite. With Prints Charming there will be NO SURPRISES!

I'm So Behind... Do you offer RUSH Printing?

Most times, I can rush invitations for additional fees, if you are in a bind! However, with rush orders, you may be limited in types of printing. But YES! it can be done!
